The Cotton Barratt Project | Bold, Vibrant, Shaker Style Kitchen

When this client approached us, they knew what they wanted: a modern shaker-style kitchen with contemporary touches. The kind of design that would make their space feel fresh yet timeless. They desired a kitchen that balanced a sense of tradition with modern conveniences. Something that felt inviting and distinct. 

We worked with them to materialise this vision and then went to work bringing it to life. We chose elegant shaker-style door and drawer fronts made from oak, adding a rich blue lacquer for the cabinet – no cookie-cutter design here. Brass handles provided a touch of luxury, while the addition of warm wood shelves and a custom wine rack broke up the depth of the blue, ensuring the room was balanced with both dynamic and cosy elements.

The worktop, a stunning 30mm Frosty Carrina, lent the kitchen a bright, clean look, enhanced further by the New Terracotta Craquele tiles arranged in a classic brick style. This blend of textures and finishes provided the perfect backdrop for the more contemporary features.

The modern edge came through the appliances: a double oven, hob, and built-in drinks fridge integrated seamlessly into the design. For a touch of convenience and innovation, we included a freestanding American-style fridge freezer, a Quooker tap for instant boiling or filtered water, and a Kaelo wine cooler, neatly under-mounted into the worktop to maintain the perfect wine temperature (say goodbye to ice buckets).

Clever storage solutions were key to making this kitchen as functional as it was beautiful. From the Le-Mans corner units to the bespoke cutlery drawers and tailored pantry cabinets, every detail was designed to create order and simplicity.
